We have some specialists coming to Bunbury to :

Officials:

1.      Conduct a free an officials training course on Saturday February 28th. Click herefor more details

Did you know if you become a Level 1 accredited official you can get paid to officiate at upcoming events in Perth such as the Australian National Junior titles in Mid-March or the World Masters Games from October 26th to November 6th!

  • For the Australian Junior Championships officials will receive around $70 per day to cover costs.
  • For the World Masters Athletics Championships AWA will be offering all Regional officials FREE shared accommodation as well as $60 per day. So i hope this will allow for more officials to come to the event. If officials don’t take up the free shared accommodation (or have someone to bunk down with in Perth) they will be provided with the $125 a day.

To get the ball rolling on becoming an official check out the new on-line training courses:

To register and start -> https://athletics.canopihr.com.au/auth/login/?returnUrl=%2F

I highly recommend as many Parents AND athletes to do these FREE courses so the knowledge within the Bunbury Little athletics community is as good as it could be.

Level 1 AWA accredited Coaching Course:

We were hoping to run a Level 1 Coaching Course as part of AWA’s ‘Festival of Athletics’ in Bunbury on Sunday February 28th. Due to the lack of a presenter we are now looking to run it on Sunday March 6th. We are aware that this is the Sunday of not only the Zone (State) Championships for our U7-U9 athletes up in Perth but it is also the Sunday of the Long weekend. BDLAC will be heavily subsidising the course (normally costs $200 pp) however in order to get the most bang for our buck the committee have decided rather than open it up too all – we would be selective as to who to offer it too based on their ability to assist with coaching on Monday and Wednesday nights next season. So parent & older athlete (U14-U17) if you know you are going to be around next season and would like to assist in coaching our little athletes and would like to take part please reply to this e-mail. The plan is then to send 2-3 of these attendees to Level 2 training in Perth during the Winter.

If you are interested in either the Officials or Coaching Courses please either reply to this e-mail or see Paul Lever on Saturday morning at the track.

Please strongly consider both of these opportunities as the better they are supported the more likelihood is that we will get them back again early in the new season.
