State Events

State Relays

Saturday 2 December 2017
Open to all Centres and teams of four boys and girls in each age group com­pete in two track relays or two field events. Held at the WA Athletics Stadium.
The events for the Track Relay comprise of heats and finals for the following events: 

  • 4 x 100 metres for U8 to U17 age groups;
  • 4 x 200 metres for U8,U9 and U10 age groups;
  • 4 x 400 metres for U11 to U17 age groups. 

Relay teams will be the fastest 4 or 5 available athletes, based on PBs only obtained in Bunbury in 2017/2018 season.

State Multi Event Championships

To be held on the 3rd & 4th February 2018
This competition is organised by LAWA, and is open to all athletes in the U11 ‑ U17 age groups.
Nominations are made through the ResultsHQ Portal. Closing date to be advised.
Each age group competes in five events and points are awarded based on performance.
Medals are presented to the winners of each age group.
The U15 Multi Event State Team is selected from this competition.


State Track and Field Zone Championships



To be held on the 17th and 18th of February 2018 in Perth, venue to be advised.
This event is the State Zone Championships for the U7 to U8 age groups.

State Track and Field Championships

To be held on the 2 - 4 March 2018 at the WA Athletics Stadium. 

This event is the State Championships for the U9 to U17 age groups.
Qualification process to be advised.
Medal winners in U14 and U15 age groups become eligible to join the State Team which competes overseas each year. 
Medal winners in the U13 age group become eligible to join the ALAC state team heading to Sydney in April 2017.
